A good bad boy is hard to find.

Seth Masterson has been lusting over Miranda Breslin since the moment he saw her on a Vegas stage. Now that he’s been asked to watch out for her as she opens a dance studio in San Diego, he’s all over it, figuring it’s his chance to get her in his bed. Except the stubborn single mom seems determined to deny their crazy-sizzling sexual chemis

Navy Seal Seth Masterson and Miranda Breslin

Seth wants Miranda, but apparently Miranda is a single mother of two adorable children. And this scares him, because he does not know how to treat children and he does not want complications.
On the other hand Miranda adores her children and soon Seth will realise that if he wants to win Miranda he needs to win her children first. Not an easy task.

Miranda is not sure whether she would give Seth a chance. The father of her children was a dangerous, bad
Getting Hotter is the 8th book of the Out of Uniform series, the story of Miranda and Seth.

Unrealistic, unlikeable, and often irritating.
Yes, I know that it is fiction, but still it has to be believable. That’s the point of reading fiction: to escape reality and to be absorbed in a made-up world, and in the lives of the imaginary characters, laugh with them, cry with them, feel with them. I didn’t get it in this story, as I was constantly fretting about that how unrealistic this and

Recommends it for: fans of the series; fans of military erotic romance
...And this series keeps rolling along. Another winner, another scorcher, good story, believable dialogue, nice flow, everything works. While the hero in this book, Navy SEAL Seth Masterson wasn't my favorite in the series (he started out as a super-jerk...although he was a sexy, bad-boy jerk), the heroine, former Las Vegas showgirl Miranda Breslin was one of my favorites of the whole series, and her six year old twins were adorable. But the character who almost stole the show was Seth's roommat ...more

Ahhh I hate writing reviews on authors I love but when the book disappoints you it is even harder, but I gotta be me and be honest.

I picked this book because it was under the “Hero” category in the Romance Package and because I have not had a book by this author that I have not liked/loved.

Only I guess because he is a Seal he gets the honor of being under the “Hero” category. I thought it meant some action was going to happen and we were going to get a heroic act in the

To be honest, I had mixed emotions about Seth. I kept a mental tally of what I liked about him and didn't. For the first half of the book, the things I didn't like about him were adding up. He seemed to be a little too forward and while I can appreciate determination in a man, there were a couple other things that bothered me about his personality. He simply did not care about Miranda's obligations to her family. She has two kids to care for and all Seth cared about was how to get into her pants ...more

You beauty! Another winner installment in this series that I've grown to really like. Loved Seth and his bad boy ways and Miranda for her strong will and her two beautiful little children.

Enjoyed seeing the other members of the group in this too and the development in each of their respective relationships. And Dylan, can't wait for his story which will really takes things to a whole new level.

A thanks goes out to my friend BamaGal for loaning me this book. Thank you!

Copy kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first book by Elle and I quite enjoyed it. Even though it’s not the first in the series it can be read as a stand-alone, so I wasn’t left feeling confused by anything.

I liked the two main characters, however I liked Miranda more than I liked Seth. Once we got to know Seth and the revelation we were waiting for was revealed, I did like him more.

Miranda is a really strong character that was easy to like and admire. Sh

Earlier this year, I read my first Elle Kennedy book, Feeling Hot and immediately purchased her back list and read all of her Out of Uniform series. I adore this author’s voice. She writes such sexy, sexy heroes who are all Navy SEALs. Hello!. Very alpha and cocky, but she pairs them up with women that know how to handle them. They also have great friendships with their fellow SEALs, something I always like. (and by friendships I mean, they are so friendly they have ménages all the time. Total w ...more

I enjoyed this. Steamy sex scenes were good.

Seth is such a bad guy, totally smitten with Miranda. He stalks her but in a good way. He hangs out at the bar where she works so he can scare off threatening customers. If he starts to do something and she says no, he immediately stops. So he’s not threatening her, other than she’s having a hard time resisting him because he is soooo sexy. She is raising two children and has no time for sex or dating. Another problem is Seth doesn’t like kids. Seth sm
Another sexy, good read from Elle Kennedy in her Out of Uniform series. I greatly enjoyed reading this from beginning to end.

I've always liked Seth (since we met him anyway), with his smart, sarcastic mouth, and distinctive personality - he did NOT like kids. Miranda was a nice contrast to Seth. She's dedicated, absolutely, to her two children, her new business, and doing things on her own. In fact she's a bit stubborn about not accepting help from others. She believes that, really, she can only

Elle Kennedy usually knocks it out the park for me but this one just didn’t get there unfortunately.

The blurb totally sucked me in and I was excited to start. The first chapter was good and I was like like yep, this is gonna be good. Let’s watch this bad boy with a kid aversion Love these kids and watch this mumma swoon over it.

However, we didn’t get that, well we did but not till like 3/4’s of the way through. I really wasn’t too big of a fan of Seth’s, he treated/avoided m the kids like they

Getting hotter was a fantastic read that had my insides hot and melty in such a good way.

Seth definitely comes out strong right from the get go. He’s direct and too the point making it clear as day that he wants Miranda.

She however isn’t interested in a fling she’s got her own responsibilities being a mother and they must take first priority.

He’s not interested in long term and throughout this story I’ll be honest while I loved his directness with Miranda about that I didn’t really see where thi

Seth could be over-dramatic, “you’re presenting your *** to me like a mare in heat. For the love of God , put on some clothes before I eff you again.” Seth is always surprising his woman, “Miranda, I grew up in a Las Vegas dressing room. I know my way around sewing machines. And a needle and thread— I’ll definitely have to stitch those sequins back on by hand. I’m hanging up the phone now. You’re distracting me.” I loved this book, I loved Seth the man was so set in his ways and with Miranda tho
Quinn's Quippy Quotes
This wasn't as good as the books before it. I just wasn't a fan of Seth's aversion to Miranda's kids. And once this was explained, I was just too invested in Dylan and Aidan's relationship to care much about the 'main characters' anymore. To say I'm excited for the next book is a bit of an understatement. If I have to guess, it's going to be my favorite of the entire series!

I have really liked this series but I just could not get into this one.

Could not engage with the mc's and the only thing I liked was getting a bit of the guys and gals from the previous books.

Copy received for an honest review - for re-release

This is the first of the Out of Uniform series that I have read, however I have read and enjoyed Ms Kennedy's Off Campus series.

I was drawn in by the blurb for this one, and was really drawn in by the first couple of chapters.

However then Seth's prickly nature started to grate on me. I wanted to really love him, but his misdemeaours really started to clock up for the first half of the book. I get him being all keen for Miranda,

Bad boy Seth has been lusting after Miranda for a long time, but she's not interested...mostly. Her first priority is her children, and Seth is anything but kid friendly. She won't entertain anything with him because she knows it won't be long term, and she doesn't want to put her kids in the situation of being hurt as well.

The attraction between Seth and Miranda hits epic proportions, and so he decides he will let her have the control if she'll just have sex with him. She agrees (she's been in
Up All Night With Books
Getting Hotter by Elle Kennedy is book four on Kennedy's website and book eight on Goodreads and the most heartfelt, deep, slow burn. And let's not forget all the HOT steamy chemistry. Kennedy has outdone herself in Seth and Miranda's story. She gets a lot deeper into situations that may be uncomfortable to some.

Besides Seth and Miranda's story being the main focus of this story, Kennedy has done an amazing job at interwining the next Seal but you don't get his ending just yet. Brilliantly done

“What is it about that woman [Miranda] that gets your panties in a knot, man?”

He wasn’t in the mood to be harassed, not when his cock ached so badly he could barely stay upright, but just as he was about to offer a sarcastic response, he noticed the genuine curiosity in Dylan’s green eyes. Huh. Weird.

Instead of snapping, Seth simply shrugged. “She yells at me a lot. I kind of dig it.”

Dylan burst out laughing. “I’m not sure what to do wi

Each story I pick up by Kennedy has me falling further and further in love with her writing. She has quickly become one of my favorite go-to authors for a sexy good time! I will admit that in this story though, she really won me over with the sub-plot and secondary characters instead of the main hero and heroine.

Seth has had a crush on Miranda for longer than he can remember, but she never gives him the chance. He wants more

3.5 stars. My review cross-posted from Joyfully Reviewed:

Navy SEAL Seth Masterson has had a thing for former showgirl Miranda Breslin since the first moment he saw her. Now that she’s moved to San Diego and his mother has ordered him to keep an eye out for her, Seth thinks it’s the perfect time to seduce the beautiful dancer.

Miranda, a single mom with two jobs, doesn’t want any entanglements. Particularly not with a man like Seth; she’s had her fill of ba
Getting Hotter by Elle Kennedy is mindless fluff. At the time, I needed some mindless fluff. Some people read paranormal or thrillers for their fluff, but I prefer romances. I find they clear my palate, like sucking on a lemon. Some romances are better than others and I turn off my super-nitpicky reading mode but the characters still have to be appealing to me.

This book has well over 600 pages. I don't know how the hell the author got that many pages. This was the fluffiest piece of fluff I've

Overall, I thought this book was an ok read. I loved the synopsis of this story and couldn’t wait to dive in. Getting Hotter hit the ground running and had me totally intrigued by Miranda. I loved her dedication to her work and how her children were her number one priority. I thought that Miranda and Seth had some really good chemistry and I loved the tension that sparked between them. However, I did have some major issues with Seth. Seth, while he was sexy and determined, I didn’t really love t ...more

I can’t believe this is book number nine is Elle Kennedy’s Out of Uniform series. I’ve been reading this series from the start and the one thing I love is that while all of her heroes seem to fall fast and hard, the stories are always different and fresh. Getting Hotter features another member of the SEAL team in hot pursuit of a single mother of twins. Problem is he wants the Mom badly but has no interest at all in her kids.

I wasn't really looking forward to this one as Seth seemed really prickly to me and I thought his phobia of kids was odd, especially as no one knew why. So it figures that Seth would fall for a woman with not only one kid, but two.

Seth's actions at the start of the book did nothing to endear him to me. I was appalled when he told Miranda that he wanted her, wanted to start something with her, but didn't want anything to do with her kids. Yeah buddy, that is just the way to get what you want. So
I was about write off this book as another one on the average bunch, and then BAM! I found myself crying next to Seth, Jason and Sophia. That scene stole my heart... and an extra half star 😁 I think I liked the way the relationship between Seth and the kids grew, better than his and Miranda's...
