A great look at the early days of Disneyland told by a true insider, Imagineer Randy Bright. This is a recent addition to my Imagineering Library - I can't believe I hadn't heard that much about this until recently.
Recommended for fans of Disney parks ,Disneyland in particular) and Imagineering!
One of the essential Disneyland titles, this survey of the park's first 35 years provides a glimpse at its earliest inspirations, its development, and its many additions over the years. It benefits from quotes from members of Imagineering and the park's original operational team who were still alive at the time of its writing, and it refreshingly doesn't avoid the many difficulties the park faced in its infancy. While it doesn't go too in-depth on any single attraction or historical moment, it's a great way to dip your toes into Disneyland history to get a sense of its earliest years.
This book covers the story of Disneyland from a dream to 1987. While I know many Disneyland stories, this book contained many I didn’t know. I really enjoyed learning more about the financing behind the park. The photographs and art contained the book are really nice and add to the stories. A definite read for Disney, Disneyland, and theme park fans.
I got this book as a child while visiting Disneyland, I skimmed it over the years but never actually read it until I bought it again. (My mum gave my book accidentally), it was a great retrospective and history on early Disneyland. Highly recommended for DisneyLand lovers.
