I see pictures and images that come alive in my mind. That's where my stories come from. I have the innate ability to be able to hit the pause button and then continue on when I want to see what happens.
I have been a storyteller my entire life. In the times when I was in need of an escape, I was able to create a world of my own to hide for a while.
I have dealt with many traumatic life events in recent years, and I believe that my way of coping with it all has been to sit down and write. I pour every emotion that I am feeling at that moment into the words on the screen. The stories just take on a life of their own. So, now I want to share with the rest of the world, the world in which I create, and hope that it helps the reader to escape into a fantasy of their own.

5 Stars – I haven’t given a 5 star rating for quite a while now.

This book was given to me by the author for an honest and non bias review.

I really love this book. It plays with all your emotions from the very beginning right through to the end. Sometimes you develop Tourettes for a while, other times you want to reach for the box of tissues. There were a few typos, but that doesn’t distract you from the story at all. I love Jenna’s writing style. I find it very easy to read and it flows very well.

The story revolves around Christina. A girl who has had a lot to deal with from her father being absent, preferring to spend his time building up his own life and affairs, to love trouble and having dickhead friends. Oh I so wanted to jump in the book and slap them silly.

There is an interesting ‘love’ element in this book. Michael and Logan and both strong characters. One you love the other you love to hate. That’s one of the things that kept me reading on and on. Logan is stalkerish, is determined to get what he wants not matter what, and what he wants is Christina. There were many “OMG” moments and so many times I thought to myself “what the hell are you doing?”

The strange thing is, I have a friend who has just been though something very similar to this. The way the author told the story was frightening similar to real life events. To be able to catch that, make it so realistic that you feel as though you are stood by Christina and going through it all with her... that is wicked!

I normally only read fantasy, and avoid the whole drama, thriller, suspense genre. But damn am I glad I read this! This book needs to get known more!

You have to love a book that starts out slow and builds questions in your mind while setting the stage for a barrage of nerve-wracking, fist-clenching chaos where the heroine is thwarted at every turn, because she just isn’t equipped to deal with what is happening around her. Chris is a realist, raised in a life of lonely luxury, she isn’t the “HEA” type. That only happens to others, never her. On a rare vacation with her father and best friend, wouldn’t you know, she is faced with her destiny, her one true love in the form of a caring and gentle man, Michael, a war veteran home after being injured in battle.

Chris’ father has other ideas for her life and has chosen who he deems to be her perfect husband, his protégé Logan, dashingly handsome, intelligent and wealthy, a self-made man and the heir apparent to take the helm of his company. Little did they know how “self-made” Logan was, or what he hid behind that dazzling smile. Michael is informed that he must go back to the Middle East, where he is declared MIA and presumed dead, but life must go on for Chris, who has only one connection left to the man she loved and it is her duty to protect that precious link, even as her father is railroaded with allegations of fraud and mishandling his clients’ accounts. As Chris’ world implodes, she is overwhelmed with decisions, both life-altering and terrifying.

Jenna Pizzi made some bold moves by not giving us a “larger-than-life” heroine, instead we have a woman who has been bulldozed into a situation that makes your skin crawl as you do some armchair quarterbacking with all types of sage advice. Chris could never have reached the end of her journey without her friends, who are loyal, determined and take over in the background of the hell that is Chris’ life. Logan is the villain, through and through, and the extent of his “issues” are not unveiled until the reader is ready to crawl into this book to become a hit man or an informer, either would have worked for me. Last is Michael, who is everything good in Chris’ life, her dream, her true love, but like a dream, he is whisked away brutally, without the closure Chris needed. His presence is felt throughout this tale via Chris’ mind and heart. With an amazing supporting cast, who often shined as brightly as the main characters, Ms. Pizzi has created a tension-filled, twisted tale that calls to the reader to become involved emotionally. With a clean wrap at the end, Ms. Pizzi adds to the realism by recounting where each character stands after the events of The Long Road Home and all I can say is that was a brilliant move!

Edit- I just wrote a review on Amazon and I'm feeling like I need to add some more about the book, rather than just my opinion on here, so here it is:

Christina isn't the type that believes in "love at first sight". She's grown up with an absentee father who has spent his life building his empire and buying Christina gifts to replace his absence. According to him, her life is planned out... after graduating from Harvard and a summer of fun, Christina is to enter the working world and "grow up". When he suggests spending the summer together in Cape Cod, at a place her mother adored, she agrees. This is, after all, the one place she remembers vividly as being a happy, loving, family.

So begins, what I call, the roller-coaster ride of emotions! Christina meets tall, dark, and handsome Logan, but she doesn't feel that "spark" she thought she would. Then enters Michael. *sigh* Tall, rugged, sandy brown hair, and emerald green eyes. Of course, it's love at first sight. So what could go wrong? Two words... Logan Harrington. As Christina falls harder and harder for Michael, Logan begins his quest of winning her over. And so begins the triangle that is Christina, Michael, and Logan.

Damn this book!!! I stayed up all night and didn't fall asleep till 6 am just to finish!! If you've read The Opportunist by Tarryn Fisher, then The Long Road Home is The Opportunist on steroids. It definitely pulled all my emotional strings. I was crying, smiling, mad as hell, and at one point, about 70% through, I literally threw my kindle down, not waiting to read anymore. Of course I picked it back up and finished an hour later. Glad I did! I really enjoyed this book, but it is a roller roaster ride from page one. Hold on tight!

I was gifted a copy of this book by the author. This review does contain spoilers! If you like suprises do not read past this point :)

The Long Road Home is a story about a wealthy young woman who lost her mother at an early age and only has her father, who is a big time CEO. Christina and her father go on a vacation after she graduates college to celebrate and have some bonding time. Christina meets and falls in love with Michael, soldier just back from the war. After a quick romance, Michael is drafted back in to war and Christina falls apart. Logan, an employee of Christina’s father sweeps in and manipulates Christina to fall in love with him. You follow this story through Logan’s sick obsession with Christina and the nightmare he puts her through.

I truly enjoyed this authors writing style and loved that she kept you on the edge of your seat. It does need some editing, mainly in the punctuation area. I absolutely hated Christina. I don’t understand the weak female that always needs somebody and is so easily manipulated, however I know they do exist. I am able to overlook my dislike of this character by the amazing story around it. Cannot wait to read more by this author! WaAR

Received this one as a freebie from Amazon, and I must say that I was impressed. I saw someone else commenting on a book blog about it and thought what the heck - besides one of my bookclub members was reading it too.

I really wanted to beat the crap out of Christina's friends for letting her get involved with Logan. I never would forgive my friends if they did some of the things that hers did (or rather didn't do) in this book.

Overall I really enjoyed it. The only thing that I had a real issue with was the grammer, but it could have been my version. If that would have been better, it would have easily been a 4.5 or 5 for me. Interested in seeing more from this author in the future.

This is a debut novel from a writer that has taken a place on my most wanted list! To be honest, although I have enjoyed the whole book, I actually preferred the second part of it, when the suspense and drama became more pronounced. I loved the ending and how all the loose ties were put together.

The only criticism I had is the spelling of the book. It's obvious that a spell check was done as the words are spelt correctly, however they are in the wrong place! Instead of it being "At precisely ... ", it says "At precociously ..." - both spelt correctly but obviously the wrong word being used. Definitely needs a human eye to edit but at least the spellings were correct.

So with each and every one of Jenna's books I love her writing style more and more. Christina goes through so much throughout this book and thankfully has some amazing friends to help her through everything.. Can I just say I hated Logan from the very beginning?!!?!?!? He's a control FREAK (and I mean that in every way possible except in a good way) The Long Road Home made me laugh, cry, get pissed off enough that I had to take an entire day break from reading just so I wouldn't break my kindle. This is definitely a must read and one of my faves of 2013.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review!

It took me quite awhile to come up with a review. This is definitely out of my comfort zone because I know what its like having PTSD and married to a veteran. This book made me cry and laugh. I enjoyed the book. I was able to read it all the way through because it didnt harp on PTSD and being a soldier. It was mentioned but not enough to get me to quit reading. So thank you for that. I am really glad that I was able to read it. It was a great story.

All the characters are well developed and I was able to see through their eyes. My favorite character in the book was Lani. She amazed me in how strong she was. She is only a secondary character but she feels like a main character. Christina and Michael's relationship was just the most happiest saddest story ever. I have had one of those moments where I wasnt able to say goodbye and just reading it, it brought tears to my eyes because I knew what it felt like. I could feel myself in this book at times.

Logan is just crazy. I have never wanted to throw some threw a wall like I did him. You know that he has an ulterior motive in the beginning but you dont know how in depth he was warped into believing himself. This is a must read! You have to find out if Michael and Christina eventually find happiness with a crazy guy stalking her. You will love it! Go get it now. Its amazing.

I really hit all emotional response during this one- I laughed, I sighed, I cried, I raged, my heart raced, I was happy, sad, entranced, horrified. I really recommend the roller-coaster ride that is this novel from Ms. Pizzi. Her vividly written characters will suck you into their world and have you invested in their lives in no time. This was really well plotted, well crafted romantic suspense; one aspect didn't suffer at the expense of the other. The dialogue was appropriate both to the characters and the situations. I look forward to more from Jenna Pizzi.

This was such an amazing book! I love a book that can take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. I was so mad at certain points that I wanted to punch one character and shake another one by her shoulders till she came to her senses!!! I normally love the name Logan ( reminds me of Marvel Comic character Wolverine lol) but this Logan was a jerk and a half ( I could use a stronger word though)!! I'm so glad everyone got their happy ending after all!! They all deserved it after all the horrible things that had gone wrong! Such a great, great book!!! Must read for everyone!!!

I have to say, I read the previous reviews of this book and wasn't sure what I would be reading. But wow! The story was captivating. The twists, turns and craziness pulled you in and held you hostage. This story made me laugh, cry, want to scream out and hit someone! The emotions were there, and felt real. I felt the heartache, and rejoiced in the triumphs. Seeing as how I got the newly edited version of this book, I didn't have any of the problems that other reviewers had. It was fantastic! I loved it!

The Long Road Home by Jenna Pizzi is a great suspenseful love story. The action is nonstop and something new is happening every few pages. I really like how the suspense kept building until the end.

Christina has grown up in a pampered world with a loving mother, who has passed away, a loving housekeeper and an absent dad. She is beautiful, rich and smart but somewhat sheltered. When Christina graduates from Harvard, she goes on a summer vacation with her best friend, Lani, and her father, Daniel. There she meets the love of her life, Michael, and before the summer ends, they make promises to each other for a happily ever after. But before they can make those promises become a reality, Michael is sent back to Iraq to serve out the last two years of his military commitment. He leaves before Christina learns that she is pregnant with Michael’s child.

Her father, Daniel, is the CEO of his own financial company. He is accused of embezzling funds and he’s about to lose his company and possibly his freedom. His right hand man, Logan, steps in to help take care of the company. He also wants to take care of Christina. Logan is obsessed with Christina and will stop at nothing to have her. He will go to extreme measures to make Christina his.

What follows is the up and down struggles of Christina as she tries to deal with her broken heart from losing Michael. Her friends stand by her as best they can but there are many decisions that only Christina can make. Her friends do not agree with many of her decisions but they will do whatever they can to help her.

The writing style flows easily and this book is an easy read. The beginning of the book is more of a romance novel but then the action picks up and things start happening at breakneck speed. The suspense begins building and building until the explosive conclusion. While reading, I felt like I was watching a suspenseful movie and was being pulled along for a wild ride. A ride that I did not want to end.

The characters are well developed, well rounded and very human. I found myself becoming invested in the character’s lives and caring what happened to them. Really liking the good guys and really hating the bad guy. The writing style is very descriptive and really added to the suspense.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted romantic suspense book. This is the first book that I’ve read by this author but I will be getting more of her books to read. I really enjoyed the characters, the plot and the suspense and I’m very glad that I read this book.

This book was hard for me to get into until around the halfway point. I felt the relationships between the characters happened much too quickly for it to seem real. Also, the passage of time seems like a matter of days when it's really weeks in the beginning. By the halfway point, the author does much better with marking the passage of time. I didn't realize that it was a suspense type book until I started reading it, not my normal read. But, it did get good. Hard part was knowing the whole time what was going on when Chris and her father were maddeningly clueless. I, however, was pretty satisfied with the ending of the book. I liked how, in the epilogue, the author mentioned what happened with all the main players in the story.

It was decent. I just really disliked how gullible Christina was, and how she just made decisions without taking any time to think about them. No time passes before she's jumping into something she's not even sure about; it made me doubt her feelings a lot. It was ridiculous. I like the idea of this story, so that helped a lot, but I did find myself wanting to rush through sections to get to the meat of the story. I thought the romance was sweet, and I'm glad there were some people who have some brains in this story. Like I said, it was decent, and I liked it enough. There's a lot of moments that pissed me off, but in the end I liked it.

I received a free ebook copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

So at first I was gonna give this book a 4/4.5 stars because of the grammar mistakes and the fact that I kept getting confused with who's point of view Jenna was writing from... But by the end of the book I got convinced to give a 5 star rating!

Overall, this book was just amazing, with my emotions going all over the place..! I felt sorry for Logan at times, especially when I thought he might have some mental problems, which he did. There was so much drama and suspense involved, which drew me to the book.

If you want romance, drama and suspense, then this is the book to read!

What a whirlwind packed with a psycho-stalker out of a movie. Not as crazy or dimensioned as Barbara Elsborg villain from Chosen. Now he was a nut, but Logan didn't hit my villain meter that high because everything about this book was just unrealistic. I mean her friends had years to just come straight out 'this man is battier than a home run, don't marry him' but nooooo they just stood on the sidelines BSing. Nope not my type. Then the storyline with Michael being dead. Idiots. All of them.

The Long Road Home by Jenna Pizzi is a roller coaster of emotions. My favorite part of a Pizzi story line is my inability to predict what happens next, and this was no exception. Just as I thought I had figured out where she was taking these amazing characters, she would throw up a huge road block and completely change direction. This book is a terrific story masterfully written. It has that ring of truth that makes it nearly tragic. Thank goodness for a well earned HEA.

An atypical romance with some mystery thrown in although it's primarily a romance.
I did enjoy most of this book, a fun exciting and adventurous story. However the main character is a pretty weak representative of the female species and she irritated me by being so useless. It took her far too long to cotton on properly to life.
