Bipolar personality for Alexander. Not the best way to show his reluctance about a relationship with Brady. Plus he is a bit too nice and perfect under the conditions. He is far too perfect and understanding. Annoyingly, boringly, perfect. Alexander is hard to really adore. He starts off emotionally void and at the drop of a pin is emotionally charged. Then is so perfect it is painful. Maybe there really are some guys so perfect but to my knowledge I haven't met any. Their relationship is way ...more

This book ended with a crazy cliffhanger! I still can't really believe that was the last sentence. In a way it was a good stopping point, but the part of me that really wants to know what happened is screaming in protest. REM is a really good book though. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it! I didn't feel like it was rushed at all, it was a pretty long story, which left plenty of room for good character development. I connected with each of the three main characters- Brady, Alexander, and Doug. And ...more

Dream Weaver

Cheryl Abbott’s debut, REM, is an interesting take on dreams and the ability to enter dreams of others. Bradalynn Collier is haunted by nighttime visions and disturbing images in other people’s dreams. Each night she finds herself thrust into the unconscious minds of those around her. Obviously, this wreaks havoc on her psyche, making her restless, tired and afraid to go to sleep. Then she meets the mysterious Alexander, an Edward Cullen archetype without the fangs and pasty skin.

There were things that I loved and hated about this story. But overall it is something that was compelling and something that I would recommend that you pick up. If you don't mind some romantic aspects that lean towards an overly doting relationships.

The most appealing relationship that I felt drove the story for me was the friendship between Doug and Brady. It had it's ups and downs, fully relateable and something worth fighting for.

I also enjoyed the main character Brady. She is stuck with

This is an excellent book with a totally unique paranormal aspect. I really enjoyed reading it and absolutely loved the relationships between the characters. Brady’s ability is never fully explained; however my lack of completely understanding her ability never hindered me from enjoying the story.

There were a handful of pages here and there where things dragged, but it was never enough that I would put the book down. For the most part the story is believable, but there were some parts that were

I absolutely loved REM. I think the idea of someone being able to jump into others dreams is such a neat ability and I really liked reading about it and trying to figure it out along with Brady. Brady is an amazing main character and I really think anyone can relate to her or at least like her on some level. The tension throughout this book between Brady's boy and her ability was really well done and it really kept me reading all night long. The cliffhanger ending is killing me, though, and I ...more

Cheryl Abbott is a Hoosier native from Marion, Indiana. After high school, she traded farm lands for sandy shores, graduating from the University of North Florida with a degree in communications.
