Haida art is very similar to other Alaskan tribes, but the Raven can be found in origin stories across the continent and is a very important figure to northwest native peoples. This book gives great examples of the raven as both the creator and the trickster.
Daina Augaitis is Chief Curator/Associate Director at the Vancouver Art Gallery. She has edited anthologies and written numerous catalogue essays and articles. She lives in Vancouver, British Columbia.
