This is one of the harder-to-find Cadell titles and I've been reading her books for years without locating it. I finally purchased it from an out-of-print dealer for an embarrassing amount of money. A quaint little read about a young British girl who marries a Portuguese man, told via diary entries. From the early 1960's, quite humorous, and perfect for me to read out of the library of a quaint old hotel in Vila Real, Portugal (adds a star)! Was hoping for more of a travelogue/cultural focus, but alas... It still made me laugh out loud a few times... entertaining!

This is my favorite of all the Elizabeth Cadell books. It is sweet and heart warming and laugh out loud funny all at the same time.
I'm so glad that all the books are to be published.
