A series of connected stories taking place just before Christmas. The first two stories were nice, but the last story left a bad taste in my mouth. Not as good as some of Willingham's other works. Very quick read though.

In the Bleak Midwinter. It was a story about two grieving widows finding solace with one another. It went at lightning speed but the emotions felt real. A solid way to spend an hour. Not much in the way of holidays so could be read at any time as the weather gets cooler. 3 stars.

Ok so I generally don't read anything where the setting isn't in modern times, but this was a free book I was asked to rate and since it was a novella, I figured whats a few hours of my time while I wait for a few new releases...

OMG I LOVED IT!!! :D:D:D

I didn't really have any expectations going into this but boy was I excited to realize that I was totally digging this story! I didn't want to put it down! Kaall is a blind viking warrior who has

Three Viking stories

The three stories all involve one family. I enjoyed them all but the last story is probably the best. Adriana gave her virginity to save Liam. Now about to wed him she knows the truth must come out. Liam has a very realistic and stupid response.

Warriors in Winter – Three Stories – They take place as Liam MacEgan returns home with his bride-to-be, Adriana de Manzano. Liam and Adriana meet in the short story by Michelle called “Lionheart’s Bride” (first published March 28th 2011) In my review of Lionheart’s Bride I wrote, I would love to see what happens with Adriana, and the highlander prince Liam. Well this book is the continuation of their story and how it touches the lives of two other couples. These stories are separate but each one ...more

This anthology revisits Michelle Willingham's world of the MacEagan family, with three short stories from the second generation of sons and daughters.

In the Bleak Midwinter - This is a story about moving through grief to find new happiness. It's been a year since Brianna's husband was killed by a Norseman, but her heart is still broken. When a handsome Spaniard named Arturo ventures to her village for his sister's wedding, she is shocked by his interest in her. But he understands her loss. His w

This book contains three short stories within the MacEgan Brothers world. It is listed as book #7.

The first story is about Brianna MacEgan and Arturo de Manzano, both surviving the passing of their mates. Brianna is angry over the murder of her husband when Arturo meets her, but he is able to bring her back to life. This is a complete story even though it is short.

The second tale is of Rhiannon MacEgan and Kaall Hardrata. After accidentally killing a man due to his blindness, Kaall lost his daug

Michelle Willingham made me cry again (in a good way)!

WARRIORS IN WINTER is a collection of three stories, all intertwined, starring the children of the characters who were in Willingham's "MacEgan Brothers" series. This book (and I think all of Willingham's) stands alone just fine, but I think readers of the other MacEgan books will enjoy seeing those characters again, and seeing their children grown up. Those who haven't read those books yet--you can get them as e-books!

Set in 12th century Ireland, this anthology features some of the MacEgan children as they come together to celebrate the winter holidays.

In The Bleak Midwinter - 4 out of 5

I love how Arturo is patient enough to tread carefully with Brianna as she struggles to come to terms with the death of her husband the year before. Their romance is more like friends gradually falling in love with each other, except their story is sped up as opposed to being told over time.

Brianna and Arturo's story, "In The Bleak Midwinter", is a very touching story. I love the way MW writes, you really can feel both of their loss' as she draw's you into their lives. The struggle Brianna faces while she tries to overcome her feelings of guilt as she falls in love with Arturo. The obstacle's Arturo has to overcome that Brianna pl

It is that time of the year for me to be looking for that book that I can curl up with and enjoy the story of Christmas that an author is sharing. This year the story was by one of my favorite authors...Michelle Willingham. Whether you have read her stories or not, a must read is Warriors in Winter. The MacEgan family once again is brought together and you will not be able to put this book down. Brianna, Rhiannon and Liam MacEgan have stories that intertwine. Brianna has lost her husband and is ...more

Go somewhere quiet and be prepared to immerse yourself in romance, passion and powerful, gorgeous, tortured heroes, who meet their match.

This is book 7 in a series, however, it's a stand alone book. I hadn't read the books before this and didn't feel jipped at all. The book is split into 3 different stories, but all revolve around the same characters and plots. Having the break up really did make it a fast read and the stories were great as short as they were. The author did a wonderful job molding all of her leading men and ladies. I admit that the last story would have interesting a little longer with more of the back story det ...more

Three novellas based on the children of her earlier MacEagen brothers trilogy, this story takes place at the winter solstice and around the Christmas holidays. Brianna MacEagen is a widow at the hands of Karll, a fierce Viking warrior who lives nearby, but she catches the eye of Arturo. Oh my word...Liam and Adriana's story was gut wrenching. I had to finish the story. I needed to know what happened. The twisting and pulling that was going on just kept me reading.

I loved all three stories. They all weaved around each other and was truely well written. Getting the stories to combine togther had to have been a challenge. One I am glad that Michelle took on.

These stories show and tell how people can overcome past hurts.

A wonderful collection of three short stories that all intertwine. They concern the second generation, descended from the MacEgan brothers, Michelle's wonderful 7 book series from Harlequin Historical. I quite enjoyed visiting the clan again, and all three stories are great. My favorite was the middle story, "The Holly and the Viking". This story was the longest and the anchor of the book. The stories take place at the winter solstice, so make a cup of hot chocolate, pou

I think I read this too far removed from the other stories (characters) in the previous books in this series, because I just couldn't get invested in these H/h's stories. Maybe if I had had more of a background (the previous tales closer in my memory) I would have found them a little more interesting...maybe they were just too short for the author to help get me there.
Anywho, for me, the books lacked depth of emotion (some of the MC's, both male and female, where just a little too much in their

Michelle Willingham continues her MacEgan's series with Warriors in Winter. This book continues their story by visiting their children in three short stories. Each story follows the journey of a different couple during the same time period. After finishing this book all I could think was WOW! The short stories blend pretty perfectly giving us different glimpses of the same events and time periods and never become redundant or convoluted. The end product is simply magic. I don't normally care for novellas but I really liked this book. The 3 stories in the book are connected and take place in the same time frame.I enjoyed how the stories overlapped and flowed into the next. The middle story with wounded hero Kaall and sheltered Rhiannon was my favorite! The Christmas setting and the customs of the times were entertaining to read. Love , love and love this MacEgan books. This is the perfect book that I can curl up with and enjoy in this Christmas holiday. The MacEgan family has back once you will not want to miss out this book .
The best story would be of ...Liam and Adriana'. Their story touched my heart and makes me linger in this book far longer since I close the book. The twisting and pulling of each story in this book just kept me on reading.

A great novel with great separate stories, I felt so much compassion for all of the characters except the villain in the last novel. It was brilliant to see the Mac Egans come back together to celebrate Christmas. It really gave me memories of reading all of the seven books about the MacEgan brothers last year. MICHELLLE I SALUTE YOU!

I really enjoyed these three stories of the MacEgans, interlinked over the period of the winter solstice and set within a period of relative peace. The characters were both strong and vulnerable in their own ways and I'm sorry to have come to the end of their stories.
