“…a lot of new titles just aren’t gaining the traction that they could, and this is a direct result of the fact that many of the things traditionally handled by the publisher are now being left for the author to do themselves, and they haven’t a clue where to begin.”
The Plan that Launched a Thousand Books provides practical, up-to-date advice on the various ways to promote your book. Tara walks you through a menu of promotional methods from which to choose, from the traditional v ...more
There are many books that are similar to this, I think this one is fourth of fith I read on the subject.
But still I found many useful tips and I have a feeling that the author is the walking library of links. She seems she really knows her stuff.

Wish I'd met Tara before my book launched, but the info here is good for those of us catching up to ourselves as well.

Tara has done all the hard work in searching out what works, and put it ...more
All I can say is Wow. There is SO much incredibly good and useful information, as well as a wonderful, overall, guiding theme that authors can follow. The book gives both an overview to what an author might be trying to accomplish as well as the details to make t ...more
The book needs to be revamped and updated. There are several references to websites where "at the time of publication in October 2012" that, even then, are outdated--and the author does state that to be the case. I understand the website links are given more as examples of what an indie author should be searching for, but if a book is being resubmitted for newer reviews then it certainly should have content that is up to date as w ...more
