I really enjoyed the colloquial language throughout the book; being that I'm a southern girl, it was very easy for me to follow.

It is an unplanned adventure of young Ronny and his dog along with a couple of bank robbers. As he starts to identify with them, he begins to make some wrong choices. As it turns out these outlaws know Ronny's family-abandoning father, there the longing for his father leads him further down the wrong path. In the end

I received this book as a Goodreads Giveaway, and I'm so glad that I did! This is a great tale of adventure. It is written from the perspective of a little boy who has empathetic, sophisticated, and honest thoughts on the precarious situation he's found himself in, kidnapped by bank robbers. And he has his "best dog Lionel" with him to share the ride! It's a charming story and a quick and enjoyable read. ...more

I really enjoyed this book! I love books that have short chapters. I could not put the book down, because I wanted to find out what would happen with the boy. Looking to read more oops by this author.

Post-Thoughts:
Coming soon...

Cover:
First thing that comes to mind, countryside. From the synopsis, the setting is in the summer of 1949 and I do get that vibe from the painting as it looks seasoned and undeveloped. A rural rustic painting of the back roads indicating an itinerant journey to Jericho, Arkansas. Now that I mentioned Jericho, the uppercase letter "J" is replaced by a lowercase letter "j" in the title spelling jERICHO. Any si

Very good read! the story holds several lessons within it. being an Okie I totally understood the dialect. The main character Ronny allows to see within the heart soul and mind of a young boy brought up on good morals and ways. my only question now is how old was Ronny at first I thought about 10 but as the story went further I believed maybe 13-14 but now i wonder if he wasnt even older can you be a little more specific to a age range?

A pretty bizarre plot, but I loved Ronny's voice and his innocence, honesty, and lessons learned. I was wondering where the story was going for most of the book, but the ending actually was more satisfactory than I thought could be pulled off. There were some strange things about the story but the writing was so fun that it was enjoyable. ...more
