Charlotte Ramsay Lennox (born: c. 1730) was a British author and poet of the 18th century. She is most famous now as the author of The Female Quixote and for her association with Samuel Johnson, Joshua Reynolds, and Samuel Richardson, but she had a long career and wrote poetry, prose, and drama.
Fascinating fictionalization of a woman who is forced to live in 1700s upstate New York. Her engagement with Native Americans is especially worthy of study.
Overall I really enjoyed this book, especially the part before she travelled to America, but it ended very abruptly, which left me confused if it was on purpose or if I have a bad version of the book :/
