This is not a great book for learning FORTRAN 77, or even a very good one. But it is still the one I recommend to students who need to learn the language, because there aren't many good ones available.

It's suitable if you are already familiar with some other programming language, and just need to know how to write your for loops or if statements in FORTRAN 77. It doesn't start with "hello world", and has only minimal examples and exercises. But it covers the basics, in a format compact enough to
