Getting pregnant from a fraternity-party one-night-stand wasn’t part of my college plans. The sobbing when I saw those two lines on the test stick became tears of joy when the doctor placed my baby in my arms. Being a twenty-one-year-old single mother with an infant is hard. Doing it while trying to finish college is a whole other level of challenging. But I’m managing. Or I was, until my babysitter pulls a no-show on the day of my math exam.

Asking for a retake date is pointless. Everyone knows Professor Jerzey Harding is an inflexible stickler for the rules. Meaning I have two choices: Skip the exam and take a zero, or take my colicky baby to the exam and hope I can complete enough of it to earn a pass before Ashton’s crying requires me to get up and leave. Which he does while I’m answering the first question.

When Professor Harding strides toward me while I’m packing up, I know I’ll be lucky to escape with just a failing exam grade. The hard set of his features could mean he’s kicking me out of the class altogether. Except he doesn’t berate me when he reaches my desk. He gently lifts Ashton from the carrier, tells me to sit down and keep writing, then walks away, calmly rocking and hushing my baby. For the entire two hours.

Grateful doesn’t begin to describe what I’m feeling, because suddenly, I’m not looking at the old-enough-to-be-my-father professor, I’m seeing the handsome silver fox of a man. And I very much want to be the teacher’s pet…

Mila is a young college student who went wild one night and ended up with a baby. She has finals but her babysitter bailed so she's forced to bring her baby to class. The professor takes one look and offers to hold the baby during her test. Professor Jerzey has had his eye on Mila ever since the start of the semester. He had no clue she had a baby, but that only makes him want her more. He's essentially her knight in shining armor and helps her with several other things before staking his claim.

I loved this! I wasn't sure if I would because I primarily read books with virgin heroines, but I genuinely loved Mila so much. Their relationship is so sweet and OTT, it was a perfect short read!

Loved this!

I really loved this story. I wish there was a little more classroom time so I could really suck in the student/teacher goodness but you can only get so much with a novella.

Even though this book was heavy instalove and moving at the speed of light, the most unrealistic thing about the story was that this uptight professor was named Jerzey lol. Though, he was super sweet. Taking Ashton during the exam was heart melting (I think I saw an article about a professor doing that in real life which may have been the inspo), and I loved how upfront he was with Mia.

Just a really good sweet story with some lactation kink thrown in if you’re into that ;)

Beautful story!!!

Boy do I love a sexy naughty age gap story. And this book was definitely that. Jerzey longed to be with his student Mila. But the problem was that she was his student. But when the heart, body and soul wants what it wants.... Add in little Ashton and Jerzey was not letting them go. This book was sooo sweet, sexy, naughty, funny and such a pleasurable read. I didn't even care about the HUGE age gap. Mila seemed so much older than her age. I would gladly read this book again. Yes, it was very good. You will not be disappointed. I've read this author's books before. And she hasn't disappointed me yet. Great book Ms. Doyle! 🥰🥰🥰

Oh, I was so looking forward to this book and it didn’t disappoint!! Everything about it was fantastic!! Mila was a student and struggling single mum. Jerzey was a professor who took one look and knew Mila was the love of his life. He held back and retained his grumpy persona right up until she arrived at her exam with a baby. He knew they were both his to love and protect and was never going to let them go! Sweet, steamy, a little forbidden with amazing chemistry, a wonderful, protective, loving hero and a beautiful HEA.

Jerzey is really supportive and caring of Mila and Ashton, making it perfectly clear that he wants to help her even if she isn’t interested in him romantically. I never was one for having babies myself, but seeing Mila in this story struggle with single motherhood makes me thankful that I wasn't pregnant in college. However, she attracts the attention of her professor and he risks his position at the college to offer her assistance and romance. It's taboo, steamy and oh so perfect. I loved the way that he came across as being direct and assertive but allowing Mila to set the boundaries and walk away at any time and not lose the benefits of child care. I'd say this is a fairy-tale as I'm not sure a man who is that caring and accepting as Jerzey is exists in the real world.

Wonderfully written novella about a professor falling in love with his student. He finds out she has a baby when she brings the baby to an exam, so she will be able to take the exam. He tends to the baby for her until she’s done, after everyone has left the room he talks to her and hands her a card for his sister's daycare. The next day he goes to her apartment, they talk and he calls his sister and they talk, the sister agrees to a time that he sets before they hang up. They talk a little more before he is about to go, they embrace and they talk, they kiss and he gives her a card on the back that has his number, they talk some more before he leaves.
She goes to the daycare to look around with the baby, the sister and her talk while walking around, the sister tells her that she’ll do free childcare for her and the student fills out the forms before her and the baby leave. Once they get to her apartment she calls the professor and they talk until she hears a bang and gets scared, she tells him before hanging up. The professor is worried and drives over to her apartment. There’s people all around and some recognize him. The gets to her floor and her neighbor notices him so he tries to help by banging but the professor gets him to stop, after everyone is in the neighbor’s apartment the professor knocks, she opens the door and lets him in. They talk and before everything is done he’s holding the baby while she gathers some things together, they were going to take the stroller but the elevators are out of order so they take it back to the apartment before leaving.
Before going to his home they stop at a store to get a baby monitor. After getting to his home she takes the baby to a spare bedroom and takes a shower. He’s sitting on the couch drinking some whiskey when she comes in, she sits down the baby monitor and they talk for a minute before she sits next to him, they talk more and she straddles his lap, they kiss and talk before he gives her oral sex then sex. They make their way to his bedroom where he wants her to be and they do everything all over again.
In class he treats her just like he always has. The exam he doesn’t grade but his teaching assistant grades them and he checks to make sure he graded it right. Everyone is out for spring break and they go to the mall since most everyone is out of town. Their walking around the mall and he’s holding the baby when she notices the baby spit up and it went down the back of his coat, she takes the baby putting him in the stroller when a guy comes out of the store and starts talking to her, the professor steps in noticing the look on her face. He finds out that that is the baby’s biological father. They talk about the father and he tells her that he’s the baby’s father now that he loves her and the baby and she tells him that she loves him also. They talk about him informing the college about them being together because he wants everyone that they’re together and he doesn’t care if he gets fired for it or not, their family and he loves them both.
Three years later she’s dressed for work. She heads to the kitchen where her husband is getting a thermos of coffee for her as well as her sacked lunch. He’s taking time off from work to tend to their two children. He wants her to stay so they can have some fun. They talk some more, he tells her about what he and the kids will be doing during the day. They tell each other that they love one another and they thank each other before she tells him that she’s pregnant again, they talk. He makes her late for work.
The characters are phenomenal, easy to read and a wonderful page turner. An amazing sweet steamy romantic happily ever after novella.

An Unexpected Addition is a different but beautiful take on the student/ professor relationship.
Mila is struggling and stretching herself thin when it comes to school, motherhood, work and basic needs. A one-night stand left her a single mom, but she didn't let that stop her but losing a babysitter on the day of exam might just put her over the edge. She does the only thing she can she takes her child to class and hopes she can finish before she might be asked to leave. She does get a few looks, but she settles in and begins the exam until her little one wakes up. As she begins to pack up Professor Harding takes the baby and nods for her to continue.
Jerzey has never let anything, or anyone disrupt his class but today he is not sure why this unexpected addition is changing his mood and ways. It may also that his student Mila has worked her way into his heart. He has never acted on or been interested in a student but today his willpower and walls are breaking down. This is the catalyst that sets this new relationship in motion. It is sweet, thoughtful, they have chemistry and once they submit, they have that wonderful sexy sizzle!

Mila wasn't expecting to get pregnant from a blackout drunk one night stand, especially while still in college. She also didn't expect her babysitter to ghost her when she needed to be in class. She will either have to miss the test and fail or try taking the baby with her. Everyone knows her professor's a hard arse. Jerzey sees things as right or wrong without gray areas. But when she goes to leave the test because the baby is crying, he breaks his own rules and takes the baby so she can take her test. From that moment on, his goal is to make her his. Regardless of the age difference, the rules, or anything else except her feelings. Will she consent?

It might have only been mentioned once, but her mother was a wretched person. The way this man loved his woman more than makes up for it.

This was such a quick, enjoyable, taboo and steamy read.

Mila (21) is a straight A student with little time for relationships, she lets loose one time at a frat party and ends up pregnant with a foggy memory of the details - thank you tequila!

When circumstances mean she has to take her 4 month old to her exam or fail the year, she takes him, willing to take any penalties that come her way. What she doesn't expect is for her Silver Fox Professor to become so much more. He is take charge, passionate, honest to a fault and insists she calls him by his name Jerzey (42).

These two heated up my kindle, Thier honest open dialogue was refreshing and the thoughts the two had for eachother were pure taboo, instalove goodness. Steam was coming off of this one in waves.

All tied up with a beautiful HEA.

Mila never planned on getting pregnant from an one night stand, college was supposed to be her focus. When first saw her son, Ashton, there was no way she was letting him go. Being a single parent in college is hard on a good day, but when her babysitter does not show she takes Ashton with her to the exam. Of all classes it is for, Professor Harding is a down the line rule follower, she hopes Ashton will sleep thru the exam. Of course he does not and the professor is holding Ashton while she finishes up.

Jerzey has been biding his time until the semester is over and he can make Mila his. Getting this close to Mila and Ashton is making it hard to keep his distance. This a steamy read, professor and student/single mom instant love, with an over the top male.

A Solved Equation

This is a fantastically naughty novella. I should probably concerned with my Kindle melting from the heat generated in my recent reads, including this one. Woo-wee! Where's the ice bucket when I need it? 🔥🥵⚡️🧊

Professor Jerzey Harding and Mila Hawkins have an intense, over-the-top beginning, and I'm all for it. I love how he insinuates his way into her and Ashton's life. He's mildly apologetic... ish. 🤣

Safety and Spoilers

Safe. No ow drama. h has a one night stand with a frat guy and ends up pregnant. She doesn’t remember anything about him so can’t tell him. She runs into him towards the end and she’s with the H and her baby. He sees baby and asks if he’s the father. H tells him no that he is the father. I don’t agree with this. Even if the guy was a ONS he still deserved to know that he has a child. It should be up to him if he wants to be involved or not.
It was commendable that the H wanted the baby and was willing to be his father it’s just not cool to deny someone else that opportunity.
H has had other relationships and other partners and h has had sex a total of three times.
No abuse or cheating.

Karla knocked it out of the park with Mila and Jerzey. I loved this story - the steam, the passion, the pacing. It was excellent, one of my top short reads this year.

I appreciated the content warnings in the beginning. You don't often see that and it really did make the story better. All in with open eyes and an informed decision to dive in to the kinks. I don't know how many times a story is ruined for me because of something off the wall in one paragraph. Knowing exactly what I was signing up for was great.

Over the top in the best way

Jerzey is intense, demanding, bossy and determined, but he is also thoughtful, sweet, completely in love and exactly what Mila needs. She needs the support, the understanding, the acceptance and the help but she also needs his steamy kisses, dirty talking, demanding loving and naughty fantasies! There may be a large age gap but Mila and Jerzey just work, it's fast, dirty and all consuming but it's also very sweet as Jerzey falls for Ashton as fast as he does Mila.

Professor Harding lives up to his name. He runs his class with the strict rules. So when Mila's son starts to fuss during an exam, he does the one thing no one expects, he holds him.

Good story with a passionate attraction, a strong FMC and a handsome MMC that find the perfect blend for each other.

Mila didn’t plan on getting pregnant while in college and she certainly didn’t expect her hunky hard nosed professor to give her a chance when she unexpectedly has her baby at her exam. Jerzey has wanted Mila since she stepped into his classroom but he’s been smart enough not to show any interest in her. That is until her baby starts fussing during her exam and all rational thought leaves him. An awesome over the top professor/ student read. Charming professor romance with a single mother with a baby. As long as the tropes work for you and none of the taboo themes turn you off, this well-paced student-teacher romance will work for you. I could easily bring myself back to my early university years with Ashley, the heroine. This was my first work that I read by Karla Doyle but it won't be my last.

Unexpected Addition by Karla Doyle is part of the multi-author Class in Session series. This is an age-gap insta-love/lust romance between a college student and her professor with some light kink added in. The story is about Mila, who is always the good girl and the perfect student. But when her roommate talks her into going to a frat house party she ends up with two blue lines a few weeks later on her latest test. She has some decisions to make even as her life is spinning out of control at the moment. Several months later and Mila is in Professor Jerzey Hardings class. Jerzey is a man of rules and that has given him the nickname among the students of Hardass Harding. But when he first saw Mila walk into his class he had to fight himself to keep to the rules. What happens when circumstances make Jerzey break every rule there is?
I really enjoyed this OTT, smexy, alpha, fun, and passionate story.
