This is not a book for a beginner and I punched above my weight to get through it. Nevertheless, it belongs on my shelf as a valuable reference. It contains a treasure-trove of vintage era master games of which I played many either otb or via chessgames.com. I can recommend it, but not for beginners.

Good and instructive, just slightly dated at times. Torn between 3 and 4 stars. For intermediate players for sure useful. Advanced players (e.g., 2000+) can skip it I guess.
