Extremely good pictures and instructions my son managed to make an origami army and now he's selling them to make a bit of cash

Published 6 years before Teach Yourself Origami, this book seems like a preliminary draft of the later book. The instructions aren't quite as clear, and some of the projects at the beginning of the book simply don't work, either because a step was left out or because the instructions are unclear. I am thinking of the Tall Cap, which ends up looking nothing like the original, and the Oblong Box which is an oblong but not a box, having no bottom. The "Boat" does look like the illustration, but not like a boat--and is so unsightly that I was sure I'd done something wrong until I checked the illustration. Yes, it really is supposed to look like that.

I had expected simpler designs and better instructions. Stick with Teach Yourself Origami if you're a neophyte like me; the designs that actually work can be found there. If you are going to work with this book as it stands, don't use expensive origami paper for the designs. Craft paper or even recycled junk mail will do fine.

Not all of the items in the book come out with his direction, dunce cap is the first of those and there are a few others. Probably all told 3 out 24 items. That does take some joy out of the process as does the ones that do not look like what you are supposed to be making and finally there are a few that are outright ugly. So it's a hit or miss type of thing but it does introduce you to the terminology and pictograms.

In dit boek staan 31 simpele projecten. Ze staan genoteerd in de gangbare Randlett-Yoshizawa stijl met een legenda voorin. Mensen die voor het eerst origami vouwen, kunnen de meeste projecten waarschijnlijk na 1 of 2 keer proberen wel maken. Er staan echter wel een paar projecten in die ik lastiger vond. Zo lukte het mij pas na een paar keer om de boot te vouwen en de waterbom op te blazen en gewoon niet om de 'fancy box' te maken.

Easy Origami is exactly what you'd expect. It's a book of a reasonable range of easy projects, including stuff like animals and flowers, nothing abstract or modular. The diagrams are clear and there's a page explaining all the symbols and folds. It's not a challenge, at all, but it's clear enough for a beginner -- even a child, with help.

I have few creative bones in my body & found this book really easy to follow. The projects are small, the instructions real simple & the diagrams are helpful. For absolute novices like me who are attempting Origami for the first time ever, this book is a good starting point.

Very easy

Make sure you go in order and don't skip models if you can help it. Book doesn't tell you names of common folds and I gave 3 stars because it over simplifies. Meant more for children beginners than adult beginners. You get what you pay for, it was only 3.50 on Kindle. Diagrams work well in ebook on a tablet.

This book is exactly what you think it is. Step by step guide to doing origami! I lead small groups of teenagers at my church and purchased this book to keep with some paper as an activity to do with them while we chat to keep their hands busy. They all loved it and the instructions were super clear and easy to follow! If you’re looking for a simple origami how-to book, this one is good.

The book has a wonderful collection of 32 projects for the origami enthusiast. The book possesses illustrations and instructions that an experienced child crafter can follow successfully. There many projects one can create: hat, cup, penguin, pelican and piano. For example the piano project has five steps, however, the instructions are hard to follow. The book's instructions are not for any child. The directions can be more detailed and well developed. The directions help, but they do need to be more accessible for the intended audience in terms of language and clarity. Some instructions must be inferred and the reader must have an innate sense of craft direction. Target Audience - Grade Level 1-5

It is the easiest way to learn origami things and now I know how to do more than five things..... figer puppets, fast paper planes, the tumbling man, flying suacers (4 types), dragons, etc.
It is the easiest way to learn learn some oragami figures because it tells you specific details on how to do it, and it also tells you step by step.The one thing i didn't like about was that it didn't have good graphics(color).
