Essential reference by one of Europe's most accomplished cuisine over-viewers.Luard always has a great social and cultural sense for her often peasant formatted cuisines.

The pictures in this book are lovely and enticing. The actual food that is made from the recipes? meh. We've made about 4 recipes, and they have no lived up to the photo. Bummer, because the photos and the descriptions sound really great. I am so glad my library has cookbooks, because I would hate to be saddled with this one!
