3.5 stars. Good collection of interesting collage techniques, including using collagraphy, woven paper, fabric, and assemblage. For a book from 1996, it definitely managed a mostly timeless feel.

Good techniques and having artists show the various steps in creating their particular style of collage was very helpful. The book includes collages made with paper, fabric, found objects, and collographs.

A design book for inspiration and instruction, but it would be best if you had some background in collage first. Not a real step-by-step for beginners, but a delicious exploration of the possibilities of collage. Covers paper, fabric, collograph,and found object collages, with photographs. Lots of inspiration, particularly if you love fabric collage but want to treat fabric as paper.
