This book was written by Nancy Reagan* along with Go Ask Alice.

It is a simple tale of a fish called Spunky Spot who is characterised as smart but isn't. "Smart" in this context means believes in whatever he is told, recognises authority and obeys without question. He doesn't do all this, quite. So he isn't smart until he does.

The book is so badly written and so stupid that it is inadvertently and ironically funny. Spot has to learn to say no (always underlined) to WORMS (always capitalised). He can say 'yes' to tobacco little clams and to alcohol shrimp but must say no to drugs WORMS because they have a hook concealed within them and what could be worse than getting hooked on WORMS?

Gee, Nancy, what did you start with that attempt from the earliest years of brainwashing children that legal drugs are perfectly fine and illegal ones you will get hooked on and probably end up being a crack addict and dead before you know it?

*I lied, it wasn't written by Nancy Reagan, it was written by Suzanne Tate who swallowed Nancy Reagan's message hook, line and sinker.
