Parts of this book were very good. Other parts were a yawn. As he promised, Maddow does offer description and opinion from the un-famous and un-influential people of the times, people, in other words, like me! The presentation, however, is lacking in any kind of spirit or enthusiasm. The information was quite interesting, even if the exposition was somewhat slipshod, the editing atrocious ("then" instead of "than"!), and the motivation perhaps merely an expansion of the résumé.
