Mixed bag here with vague information about the reviewing process, uneven reviews that do not always include the same information, even a review of the writer's own shop! Lovely photos, good background on chocolate, excellent basic facts and nice advice for tasting. Makes this rating very average.
The first 30 pages included a succinct yet informative history of chocolate and the chocolate making process. The pictures included in this introduction made it all the more powerful. The rest of the book was detailed notes on specific chocolatiers and their shops, which is not useful unless you live near one.
Very informative and interesting book about chocolate. The only thing I wished is that she made her reviews more standardized or based on an exact system. She didn't really explain her reasonings for her ratings on various companies.
