Energy Tapping for Trauma: Rapid Relief from Post-Traumatic Stress Using Energy Psychology

Rate this book
Energy psychology is a scientifically validated body of research and core set of treatment techniques that conceptualizes thoughts, feelings, emotions, and other psychological phenomena as manifestations of energy working though the system of the human body. If some psychological phenomenon is causing pain, distress, or a lack of function to an individual, the somatic techniques of energy psychology work to disrupt the flow of energy causing that phenomenon. One of the more common techniques in the energy psychology repertoire is called energy tapping, a practice, similar to acupressure, that involves manipulating and tapping certain points along the body's energy meridians to influence psychological events. In this new book, author Fred Gallo applies energy psychology techniques specifically to recovering from acute trauma and post-traumatic stress symptoms. Some techniques in this book are adapted from Energy Tapping by Fred Gallo and Harry Vincenzi. Energy Tapping for Trauma offers a concise overview of how trauma affects us and why certain aspects of traumatic experience can linger as post-traumatic stress. The book adapts energy psychology techniques into simple, effective strategies for 'short-circuiting' the emotional problems associated with trauma. Throughout, the book advocates for a balanced and sensible 'whole-person' approach to dealing with and recovering from a traumatic event. For more information about Energy Tapping please visit the

This book was very easy to grasp and understand quickly, and the techniques are simple to understand and implement. While the idea initially seems a little bit hokey, I have begun these techniques whenever painful traumatic memories arise, and then testing the result of the tapping technique after by invoking the memory again. The techniques ARE making a difference, and so I will continue using them. Consider this a cautious recommendation for help - not a cure-all, but definitely an assisting, drug-free way to receive relief from what can be paralyzing memories. And, better than catatonia or nightmares.

Energy Psychology has the power to revolutionize healing. Nowhere is that more evident than in the field of trauma recovery. As he has with all of his books, Dr. Gallo has included enough technical data and research to satisfy the skeptic, sufficient case summaries to encourage the hesitant, and step-by-step exercises for those who are ready for relief.

The various Energy Psychology techniques presented in this volume will be useful for taumas big and small. Had a bad day? Try the Simple Trauma Technique. Are you the victim of a natural disaster or war? Consider the Trauma Removal Technique. There really is something here for everyone.

I've been using some of these techniques for years and I am a living testament to their benefit. Now I am excited to expand my practice with these other techniques. Dr. Gallo's work in this field has made relief as close at hand as our fingertips. Get busy and get tapping.
