Top notch scholarly writing on the NT gospels. Reflects latest research and findings, not only LDS, and the footnotes reference every resource used - which is useful when considering what to teach and where to find more information. I have really enjoyed the essays in this scholarly volume concentrating on the life and teachings of Jesus as recorded in the New Testament. The writing is excellent and I learned so many things. I really appreciate the synthesis of many different commentaries and studies as well as historical manuscripts and various bible translations. The scholarship is excellent. This is the basis of my Easter study this year and I am anxious to begin Volume 3!

As with the first volume, this volume was incredible! Just extremely incredible. These books are teaching me so much about the background of the Gospels and helping me to get so much more from my reading of them.

I began reading pertinent chapters in connection with Easter last week. Excellent and lots of good non-LDS commentary and research only add to the wealth of information it contains. Highly recommend.
