I appreciated several aspects of this book: 1) The description of the "need" for symmetry that I experienced growing up was so spot-on that I thought someone was reading my thoughts. 2) The distinction between an interest & an obsession is helpful: just because someone loves something doesn't mean it's a clinical obsession; rather, obsessions include anxiety. 3) The introduction to the cognitive-behavioral therapy approach to fighting OCD was helpful. 4) The section on co-morbidities, includ ...more

This book is a must read if you suffer OCD. very very helpful. I highlighted a lot of things and passed it on to my husband, it helps him understand what I go through. It also taught me some ways to rid myself of some compulsions... it just takes time and not giving up.

This book was good, however I have battled with OCD myself and though this gave me some answers it wasn't able to pinpoint the depth of what I was truly going through at the time.
