I would absolutely recommend this book to students of American History, or even just people with an interest in the subject. It provides a great overview and the use of graphics will be useful in improving retention for visual learners.

Great alternative to the dense text books during middle school.
I purchased a copy in high school because our text book was always pulling illustrations from this book.

I love this book. I am 30 years old and I have live in the States for about 10 years. I have always wondered about the history of America and how it became this great nation. We studied about Columbus's discovery in school but we never knew what happened next. Although this is a text book intended for middle school students, I have personally enjoyed reading it so much.
