This year, as usually, I decided to go back to my childhood and read something that filled my heart and mind with lovely images and inspiration: Anita's books (in Portuguese, that is, in the original french it's called Martine!!).
This is absolutely my favorite, together with Anita no Teatro... The images and imagination are stunning... Anita falls asleep in her bed and finds herself living a dream life in a circus! She has different roles in which she excels, until she wakes up in her own bed again... Lovely and smooth, some images could well become lovely posters in a young one's bedroom...
Every year I start by reading children's book, remembering the happiness I felt when I read my Children stories, and now missing my two Granddaughters... Martine's stories are wonderful, as they help build, in the reader, a whole universe of beauty and harmony, creating a very special atmosphere.
I totally recommend these children's books to establish peace and beauty in one's mind, in the midst of these times of trouble!

2.5 stars & 3/10 hearts. Well, this was a cute enough story. I’d say it’s one of the very early Martine books, with not the best text or illustrations, but still fun to look through. I have to say I enjoyed Martine’s wardrobe!
Contains a few images of immodest clothing + a sort of mention that a fairy travels with the circus or something—I didn’t quite understand the whole deal.
