Got this as a deal though some food item. Good recipes, based on holidays.

Maybe it's because these are classic favorites with minimal innovation to offer; maybe it's because Rose's exemplary attention to detail becomes cumbersome when applied to savory cooking, but I wasn't as charmed by this book as some of her others. Still, there are some solid recipes here, and a handful I'm eager to try. In addition, her love of holiday, family and food shines through, so the descriptions are a pleasure to read.

I would recommend this book by Rose Levy Beranbaum. It's more than a mere "recipe book". I've heard good things about her Cake Bible, so that will be my next Rose Levy acquisition.
