This monograph covers a 50-year period in the life and work of American sculptor, George Rickey. It is intended to present the depth and breadth of his sculptural oeuvre between the early 1950s and his death in 2002 at the age of 95. Featured are 52 indoor and outdoor works, which demonstrate his expressive use of movement, and the relationship of his kinetic work with the natural world.
Any book about Rickey is inherently imperfect because his sculptures are 3D of course and also moved and appeared differently in different light, wind, weather, etc. at the least you need to watch a video to get the true flavor. That said, I am such a huge fan of his work that I am happy to have the book too.
