My preschools students would take the book away from each another. They really enjoyed to make germs noises lol ..it was welled read and handled ..it ended up taped together.. I can't remember what ever happened to the book. We would create puppet germs for puppets shows.

This is a picture book used to teach preschool aged children good personal hygene habits. It is in both English and Spanish. The story is about a five-year-old girl named Rosa who gets mean, nasty, dirty, downright disgusting but invisible germs on her hands throughout the day. The story identifies a sickness that each germ can cause (earache, headache, sore throat, a fever, and throwing up) and shows how handwashing washes them away. I think this is a very good book to teach small children about the importance of handwashing. The cartoon-like pictures of the germs are very interesting and help to make these microscopic organisms tangible to a preschooler. this story would be both educational and enjoyable for kids.

Such a fun way to teach kids about germs and hand washing! More important than ever now. And Sara, my adult 32-year-old nurse just said, "I lOVED that book. I tell people about it and they think I'm making it up."
