I thought this book was good, but not as useful as Reframing Organisations, which is a fuller look at this subject. It looks at the advantages that cam be gained through leaders who inspire or are prepared to fight and when the right times are to follow each action. There were a lot of useful moments in here, it just spent too much time unveiling them. I think it's because the content is enough to form part of a book rather than a whole, as he proved with his latest one.

Excellent description of the political and symbolic side of leadership. Anyone steeped in analytical and human resource models would benefit from this work.
