What a find! Most books that deal with the history of a technology are pretty dry and boring, even if you are a geek, but Tube is an exciting account of the history of television that emphasizes the human lives that shaped it. The story of the development of television, from the early mechanical systems of Baird and Jenkins to the rivalry for electronic television between Philo Farnsworth and David Sarnoff. Ends with a brief discussion of the last great fight over color TV, and a 1996 vision of the future of digital television.
