Cliffs Notes have a great reputation, but not all of them that I have read have been great. This one is. Now, it seems, I have to reread the book so I can check out the stuff I missed first time around.
I had to conduct a close reading of As I Lay Dying for one of the literature courses in my creative writing program. I had never read the book so I read this CliffsNotes version to help me see the different themes and to discover what made the book a classic.
This was an easy to understand, quick read, that helped me immensely. With all the reading required in a literature course and working full-time, it was nice to have a way to discover what to look for in the book itself.
The way I start any research is to Google the topic first to get a general idea - then I move on to other credible sources. This book was like Google for me. It is excellent for any student that needs more focus on Faulkner's book.
