The book starts off well with the interaction between estranged couple Andrew and Alison Rolt. Andrew wants a divorce or reconciliation to further his career but won't agree to either. But it takes a hundred pages until we have a murder - too long. Set in late sixties or early seventies Barbourne the only clue to the time period is a reference to the moon landings. I found the characters confusing and I wish they wouldn't keep having suppers or late suppers. The word began to jar with the number ...more
