This was a tween piece of fluff. I should have saved my time by just watching the movie. Pete's character was the most entertaining part of the book. His thoughts were realistic which made it funny. The ending made me want to retch. Really? The girl takes out her retainer and they kiss onscreen. Nasty! I would want my money back from the box office.
It was very similar to the movie, but it had some extras that kept it interesting. It is kind of a modern day fairy tale that doesn't end the way that you expect. It is also a nice story where the underdog really gets a chance to shine. Both the book and movie were well worth it.
