This book has its moments. When dealing with how to compost and what materials to add to the pile, the mechanics of composting, and what to look for, it’s very good. Given the book’s age, 29 years as I write this, the sources are dated (no YouTube videos!) and some of the commentary is old and left me wondering how the predictions turned out.
Overall, it’s a really good overview of composting at home and I’ve used some of the techniques over the last few years to improve my results. I just never read the entire book through before now. For the beginner, this is an excellent and easy to follow textbook.
