Mr. Wulffson is a very disturbed individual. I don't know if he witnessed his parents murdered from under the bed when he was a kid or what, but perhaps science-fiction isn't the correct genre for him to be flexing his black demeanor, what with the already-on-edge, glass-half-empty, major depressive pseudo-intellectual types who gravitate towards it. I refer to myself, of course.

All written for children, the stories in this book have a real heavy-handed feel, which is standard for Wulffson. However, the standard story in this book is more creative and unusual than most, and his usual eye for detail flourishes with the alien settings.
