This is a thoroughly researched and well presented look at New York quilts - not just pretty pictures (though there are plenty of those), but an in-depth look at the history and geography of the area, the development of textiles in that area, a nod to male quilters and a summary that recognizes the limitations and complexities in trying to draw conclusions from it all.
