His “Spanish Bit Saga,” a series of related novels, helped to re-define the Western novel by adopting the point of view of the Native Americans, rather than the European immigrants.

I found this book and the 2 others following it on a donation shelf. I found them easy to get into, despite not having read the rest of the series, and enjoyed the Bit (pun intended) that I did read. I would love to read the rest of the series now.

Very good "Western" story. It's actually not like your normal American Western tale. Lots of nicely developed characters and a nice continuing storyline. Recommended
