After an early morning intrusion from an annoying friend of her ex-husband's and four Uzi-toting thugs, Ronnie Ventana is obliged to help Bink Hanover escape.

With the help of ex-boxer and fellow P.I. Blackie Coogan, Ronnie's off to find the woman Bink calls the "Black Widow." The woman whose string of well-connected lovers have all come into sudden riches_and sudden death. Ronnie races to catch a killer_before the killer catches her.

While the plot was artful in some respects, there was so much cooperation with the PI (Ronnie Ventana) that it was too unrealistic for my tastes. Complete strangers answered her questions and got her more info pretty much whenever she wanted it. The police were not cooperative, but that's to be expected in a PI mystery. It was not "badly written," it just felt as if we were going from one plot point to the next until the book ended.
