The best Joseph Smith history book I have ever read. Written by various BYU Church history professors on many events during Joseph Smith's life and the early days of the LDS Church. Learned lots of things about JS that I never knew before. The book clarified details of various events in his life that you don't get from other general Church/JS history books. Also very interesting footnotes at the end of each chapter give interesting insights to circumstances surrounding events of the the LDS church in the JS era.

This book is really a compilation of well documented historical essays about various episodes in the early history of the LDS (Mormon) church, focusing particularly on its founder. The essays in general are well done and readable. Some offered some interesting takes on more well known episodes, such as the ending essay that considers whether Joseph's death was really necessary.

This is an awesome book on the prophet Joseph Smith. Each chapter is written by a different scholar on different events, periods of time, or situations in the prophet's life. It is very well written and well researched. I learned a lot!

Pretty good read about Joseph's life. Well-written and easy to follow. Maybe not the best book out there, but I definitely learned some interesting personal and historical facts about his life.
