When Shrek and Donkey meet a mysterious stranger named Puss in Boots in the deepest, darkest part of the woods, will they be in terrible danger . . . or meet a new friend? Maybe a little of both!
A beautifully illustrated full-color storybook, based on a wonderful, funny scene from the new Shrek 2 movie.

Based on a scene from the movie "Shrek 2", this book is the story of how Shrek met Puss in Boots. The King, who is Fiona's dad, disapproves of Shrek as her husband, so he offers Puss in Boots a large amount of money to go kill Shrek. When Shrek and Donkey are walking in the woods one day thinking they are about to meet the king for a hunt, Puss in Boots comes out of nowhere and attacks Shrek. A fight then breaks out and Puss in Boots gets scared, so he apologizes to Shrek and explains why he was sent to Shrek. After this, Puss in Boots wants to be Shrek's friend, but this makes Donkey jealous. Although, Shrek cannot resist how cute he is, so he takes Puss in Boots and the three go off together. The artistic element used in this book is pictures of scenes from the movie. This helps the reader to picture and remember the scene from when they watched the movie. Or, if they have never watched the movie, it shows what the scene looks like. I rated this book 3 stars because the story was good, I just wish the book was a little bit longer and provided a little more insight to the journey of Shrek, Puss in Boots, and Donkey. I really liked how the scene and the pictures corresponded to the movie. With that being said, this book is a great supplement to the movie.
