My kids enjoyed the comical drawings that relate the idea of the word. There are 250 words in this book that appear the most frequently on the difficult portions of the SAT test. This book uses mnemonic devices like drawings, rhymes, and phrases similar to the vocabulary word to help in memorizing. For example, ABSTRUSE is broken down into I'm ABSolutely TRuly confUSEd. Or REPLETE. I eat and eat 'til I'm REPLETE. I recommend this for anyone who wants to expand their kids or their own vocabulary without the boring rote memorization. It really works.
