Difficult to use with illustrations separated from the text and most illustrations either in black and white or in muted unrealistic colors.

A very helpful guidebook to Texas birds - the silhouttes and bird calls are helpful in identifying birds on hikes. I have a first edition of this book, and found the section on rare sightings (or accidentals) fascinating to read.

I had an older version from the library, and all the plates were at the end of the book. Talk about annoying! I hope this has been updated!
