Hitler's Volksgemeinschaft and the Dynamics of Racial Exclusion: Violence Against Jews in Provincial Germany, 1919-1939

Rate this book
Die »Volksgemeinschaft« hatte seit dem Ersten Weltkrieg in Deutschland in nahezu allen Parteien politische Konjunktur. books like this one are a bit hard to get through: the central idea is expressed within the first 50 pages or so, then there's about 200 pages illustrating that the interpretation based on this idea is convincing/correct and then there's a conclusion reiterating that point. however, to understand the scale of popular involvement in violent anti-semitism, its use as a political tool and its power to create a homogenous society, this is a very important read.
