Confronting Windows 8.1 with no prior exposure left me feeling lost. This book, which is aimed at people like me who have experience with prior versions of Windows gave me an overview of what Microsoft has done - how to find programs when there is no start menu, things like that. Enough of an 'Aha' to begin navigating. (Although there are differences between 8 and 8.1 this gave me the basics.)

It was OK for an overview but was written before 8.1 was released.
