Hungarian Rhapsody - Justine Elyot Ruby had no idea what to expect from her trip toBudapest, but a strange man in her bed on her first night probably wasn't it. Once the mistake is ironed out, though, and introductions made, she finds herself strangely drawn to the handsome Hungarian, despite her vow of holiday celibacy. Does Janos have what it takes to break her resolve and discover the secrets she is hiding, or will she be able to resist his increasingly wild seduction tactics? Against the romantic backdrop of a city made for lovers, personalities clash. They also bump. And grind. Restraint - Charlotte Stein Marnie Lewis is certain that one of her friends - handsome but awkward Brandon- hates her guts. The last thing she wants to do is go on a luscious weekend away with him and a few other buddies, to a cabin in the woods. But when she catches Brandondoing something very dirty after a night spent listening to her relate some of her sexcapades to everyone, she can't resist pushing his buttons a little harder. He might seem like a prude, but Marnie suspects he likes a little dirty talk. And Marnie has no problems inciting his long dormant desires. A Sticky Situation - Kay Jaybee If there is a paving stone to trip over, or a drink to knock over, then Sally Briers will trip over it or spill it. Yet somehow Sally is the successful face of marketing for a major pharmaceutical company; much to the disbelief of her new boss, Cameron James. Forced to work together on a week-long conference in anOxfordhotel, Sally is dreading spending so much time with arrogant new boy Cameron, whose presence somehow makes her even clumsier than usual. Cameron, on the other hand, just hopes he'll be able to stay professional, and keep his irrational desire to lick up all the accidentally split food and drink that is permanently to be found down Sally's temptingly curvy body, all to himself.
I am Justine Elyot. I love to write erotica and erotic romance. Elements you are likely to find in my work include: moustachioed melodrama villains, whips, wisecracks, knights in tarnished armour, damsels under duress, lovers, leather, aquiline features, references to popular songs. I massively overuse qualifiers like ‘really’, ‘quite’, ‘actually’ etc. and can’t resist the temptation to substitute long words for ‘said’. Reviewers either rave or cringe, with very little middle reactive ground (insert Marmite cliche here). Which will you do?
Each one of the 6 books in the secret library comes in a different colour under the black velvet, but Hungarian Rhapsody comes in the most gorgeous purple and black flock, so soft to touch and after a quick blow to get rid of the loose flock it now doesn't moult at all; the flock is well stuck and doesn't cover everything you touch. Each book contains 3 novellas written by 3 popular writers edited by Antonia Adams a great writer herself. So those of you that enjoy reading shorter stories will love just grabbing bits of these stories which are on average of 70 pages each during coffee breaks, lunch breaks and of course before bed; but dont expect to get to sleep as you will want to read all 3 of these brilliant stories.
All three novellas contain a strong engaging male hero with a level of conflict and an excellently written explicit ending in all 3 books. Its strange as I would always go for the more hardcore sex scenes type book, but the storylines from each one of these brilliant authors made a fantastic read. I felt a great connection between all the couples and could feel the conflict between them, it takes a good erotic author to keep you hooked on the story lines with the sex just being an added bonus. Despite all 3 sex scenes being quite vanilla, each was written well and dont think just because its vanilla its boring its certainly was NOT, they are all a very hot erotic sexy read; with cracking endings to all 3 novellas. I cant actually say which story was my favourite as they were all brilliantly written and each being so completely different from one another. But seriously all three novellas were expertly put together with their addictive reads. I would absolutely recommend this book and most probably any one of the series which I will be hoping to add to my book reviews too.
What I love about this series more is the fact they are trying to encourage more book reading not kindle downloads, I love my real books always have. always will, but sadly we are all being forced to buy a kindle or e-reader with so many books now only being published digitally. I too am having to consider buying a Kindle...argh...I so didn't want to; but its seems the only way to continue reading the books I love! I love technology but I dont want to move with the times as I love the warm comforting feeling as it envelopes you in the smell, sound and texture of the paper. Not the cold metallic unfriendly robotic feel of an LCD unit.
Climbing down off my high horse.....
I adore the new velvet flock covers beautifully designed you will want to collect the rest as they will look stunning in a bookcase.. you know...those wooden things with shelves...! Okay now I'll finish getting down off my high horse...
This book can easily be left on your bedside or coffee table and of course would make a beautiful gift to someone. You are going to have to wait for this one though as its isn't out until June along with The Game but believe me its well worth the wait, just pick up one of the other 4 in the series I'm sure you wont be disappointed, although I have yet to read these, but all 6 books have some great authors and I look forward to reading them and bringing them to you.
Only finished first story because I'm bad at giving up on books. Guy was pushy when she made her boundaries clear and the sex was mediocre. I liked the dip into Hungarian culture.
The first story Hungarian Rhapsody was very good. Second story was awful that I skipped to the last story started well but I found the ended a bit crap.
Three erotic romance novels wrapped in a lovely cover - the velvet feel of the material on the cover made for a more tactile reading experience than usual! Three very different stories - 'Hungarian Rhapsody' by Justine Elyot, set in Budapest and making the most of the romance of the city; 'Restraint' by Charlotte Stein, where a weekend away between friends (and a suspected enemy of one) takes a very sexy turn with a good dash of dirty talk; 'Sticky Situation' by Kay Jaybee, where clumsiness and professionalism clash and desire bubbles under the surface in a very humourous fashion. Each of them are a good, quick read. My favourite was 'Restraint'; I was just wowed by Stein's use of character voice, which was distinct, funny, and full of so much personality I really felt I got to know the viewpoint character, Marnie.
Justine Elyot skilfully uses Hungary as the backdrop for a hot story featuring a hot Hungarian and a young woman who's escaped an unhappy marriage. It's the perfect romp with many romantic moments as well as fun ones.
I bought this so I could read Ms. Stein's novella. Loved it. A repressed dude? YES! And the girl says the magic words (Romance/erotica readers you know the one!). YES!
Funny and entertaining read! I loved the stories within this book and I think if I got the chance to get the other Secret Library books I think I would read them all!
