In Pure Style Outside, Jane Cumberbatch takes her uncluttered, pared-down style outside to help you make the most of your outdoor space, be it a modest city balcony, roof terrace, or rambling country garden. The book features a wealth of inspirational suggestions for all the elements that make up the garden, from colour and lighting, boundaries, surfaces, containers and furniture right through to the author's favourite selection of flowers, herbs, fruit, vegetables and other plants.
From the Introduction, which captures the essence of why I love this book: "Pure Style Outdoors is about experiencing the obvious, simple pleasures in life (the very elements that many of us neglect in the hurly-burly of daily living), such as cooking with homegrown herbs, cutting your own roses for the table, or the sheer peace of sitting outside on a warm starry night."
This also has great photographs of garden spaces/vignettes. Photos are eye-popping, but pretty rustic and maybe a little contrived. Author is from England.
