Told through more than 400 photographs, the Story of War is one that touches everyone: soldiers and civilians; men and women and children; Europeans and Africans and Asians. Beginning in 1854 and ending in 2002, the book portrays the horrors of war through photographs of children wandering in rubble, prisoners held at gunpoint, and soldiers lying dead on the battlefield. The photographs are accompanied by explanatory text written by well-regarded war correspondent Robert Fox.
