Wow! I thoroughly enjoy using this card deck book. It pairs so well with Joanne's book "trauma-informed yoga". As a teacher and guide, I like to use visuals and to recommend simple yet powerful tools for my students to use every day. This card deck book is an especially great resource for people who say they can't do yoga. The models have all different body types and many of the practices can be done while sitting in a chair. Yes, that's yoga too! Do you and your family a favor and get this book!

I have used several of the practices in this deck for the past few years. Joanne is sensitive to people of all skill levels, and provides gentle exercises that promote health and wellbeing, stimulate calm, and help reduce stress, deepen breath, and increase flexibility. I am excited that these practices are available in such an easy to use, portable, and functional way. I especially like the recommended practice sequences included at the beginning of the deck. Don't miss the "Bee Breathing" exercise. It's the balm!

What a helpful resource for those times when you don't have an 30 minutes to an hour to do a full yoga video or you want some guidance for just a short practice. I love the index that recommends particular "poses" or movements for different situations, depending on whether you are looking to get more energy, deal with stress or anxiety, or just taking a few moments for grounded meditation. I appreciate this guidance as I seek to incorporate mindfulness practices into my daily life. This will make a great gift, too!

As someone who has struggled with migraines for 17 years, I have found that one of the most useful tools to lower my heart rate and speed healing during an episode is gentle yoga. One of the problems, however, is that due to the intense pain, I have a hard time remembering what to do. The cards are simple, beautiful and incredibly helpful.
