I am so torn on this book. It was actually decent, but not how I expected it to be. I LOVE the expose style books from the satanic panic era written by 'experts' of the occult. I thought this book would be in that mold, however it was FRUSTRATINGLY level-headed, to the point that it was pretty boring to read. To be fair, it was refreshing for the author to take an open-minded, and thorough approach to writing this book.

So no satanic panic hysteria to be found here. It's just a straight-up guide to alternative religious groups.

This was kind of cool to have because I used to know the guy who wrote it and he mentioned me on the acknowledgements page. But, the fact that my copy is in mint condition tells you how useful I found it personally. Maybe if I had the slightest interest in law enforcement?
