In this volume it's revealed to the public in a very stupid way that Shuichi Shindou and Eiri Yuki are dating.
The whole volume was mostly focused on this nonsense and the rest was comedic scenes and contradictions about previous situations like Hiroshi suddenly having romantic feelings towards Shuichi and hating Eiri because he was able to date him while in the same volume thinking of going on a date with Eiri's ex- fiance.
Everyone ignores or forgets that it was Tatsuha that was the one who let everyone know Shuichi and Eiri's relationship not Hiro.
The writer can't even remember what she wrote a few chapters ago and it's starting to become annoying.
Also Hiro quits the band for the SECOND time and this time it's because he was blamed for the Tatsuha situation but later on it seems it was because of jealousy of Eiri.
Once again he doesn't return to the band because of Shuichi's pleading but because of someone else and this time he joins because Eiri's ex - fiance said she would go on a date with him he did.
Nothing makes sense in this arc.

The rampant stupidity continues along with a plot that seems to be going nowhere fast. Characters seem so inconsistent that I just can’t get into any of them. And everyone seems to struggle form the “100% comedy, then suddenly 100% super serious” -disease equally, so the characters all seem kind of copy-pastes of each other to a degree. No one feels all that distinct from the crowd.

I don’t understand some of the character motivations. Hiro coming up with his stunt—and he genuinely didn’t think how badly it could end up even with how well he knows Shuichi? Really? And I can’t get any picture of Seguchi at all: he seems like just an amalgamation of random whims rather than a character. What is his motivation? Does he even have one or is he just the Twist-ex-Machina, existing only to throw some interest into the plot when it wanes?

But this volume has some genuinely funny gags that actually got a laugh out of me, so bumping my rating up from the traditional 2 stars to 3.

Shuichi is in the dumps over the big change in his life and views of his idol, Ryuichi Sakuma, but no fear! Because Hiro is able to lift Shuichi's spirits with a little, uh, encouragement... Hiro pays off Tatsuha, Eiri's look-alike brother, to dress as Eiri and cheer Shuichi on from the audience of another game show, since Eiri left for ten days to New York. Although Hiro's plan did work to get Shuichi raring to go, it just reeks of disaster when Tatsuha gets a little carried away and smooches Shuichi right on camera!


Gosh, this series is just so funny. You can definitely tell it's from the 90's by the taste of its comedy! These two have got to be one of my most favorite fictional homosexual couples that I have ever seen. Their romance is cute, but a little bit shallow. And K! He is so different in the manga rather than in the anime! As for the manga, he is definitely my favorite character! I love 'im! HEHEHEHE *derp face*.

This volume is absolutely fabulous. Shui and Yuki finally come out of the closet in this volume, though not of their own choosing. Tatsuha uses his powers of looking just like Yuki for the forces of evil, though they were originally to be used for good. With the promise of his beloved Ryuichi's phone number, Tatsuha impersonates his brother and ends up kissing Shui on national television! This volume therefore features what appears to be Yuki acting in a very uncharacteristic manner. Yuki may also have decided to join the mafia, or at least his fashion sense has.

To old and too disgusted by imbecility and lack of everything what makes story and plot logic and coherent. It should be comedy, well perhaps it is and there is huge cultural gap and age gap,which prevents me to give this manga any good review. Rape was done and now there is murder. More imbecility comes. It should be comedy, perhaps it is.
The utter fails are comments from author.
The end is nearer and nearer.

As much as I love Shuichi and Yuki, the craziness in this volume was too much even for me. There was very little plot - though I did like seeing Yuki and Seguchi in New York, revealing more information about what happened to Yuki all those years ago - and the whole cooking show debacle was very filler-ish, I admit I skipped most of it. I'm still interested in seeing where the relationship between Shuichi and Yuki is headed, but I would lie if I said that the crazy stuff didn't bother me.

i actually kind of liked this vol. so it will get 4 stars. but i can't bring myself to rate it any higher for any of the volumes for here on out. let's face it, murakami is a downer and doesn't need to badmouth her own series. i guess it's pretty apparent that i'm still rather hung up on this blurb thing.

At this point the manga has gotten so crazy that I've given up expecting something like a reasonable plot, and if you just go along with the insanity of it all, it's a lot of fun. Basically, the only character acting like an actual human being seems to be Hiro, the others just - yeah, pretty much defy any explanation or description. But it's funny.

Yaoi or boy-on-boy love manga. It was the first and only series of that genre that I have read, and was utterly hilarious. It had great funny, sentimental, and sad moments. A lot of fun to read, and quite unpredictable. The art was a little lacking, the only reason for 3 stars instead of 5.
