Detective Nate Reigns and Federal Prosecutor Attorney, Skylar Burrell find themselves in a conundrum. Nate discovers the murder of his friend, prosecutor Alex Burnette, is connected to something larger than a simple murder. With Skylar’s help, he discovers a connection to the deaths of several prosecutors from other jurisdictions.
Nate and Skylar uncover proof that an organization, P.I.E, is responsible for a variety of deaths. P.I.E.’s evil agenda has national implications. They must be stopped; however, the P.I.E organization is more powerful than anticipated. The organization have infiltrated the police department, the Commonwealth Attorney’s office, and the local judicial system. To make matters worse, Nate discovers, their reach extends to the United States Congress.
It is up to Nate to expose and prove their evil intent. But the question is...to who?

I’m so invested in this series. The only books with suspense I read are mainly romance. I was invested and locked in on the beautifully crafted roller coaster I just finished. Iris Bolling is exceptional with her pen. There is never a lull or dull moment to be had from beginning to end! I’m anxiously waiting for the next installment. If you need intrigue, action, murder, or mayhem…then this is the book for you! Bravo!

Mannnnnn this has got to be thee best story yet penned by Iris Bolling. I’ve enjoyed all her other books but this baby here had me on edge, losing sleep, wanting more and hoping it never ends. All the bombs that were dropped in this story has me fiendin’ for what’s happening next. I like how all her other series are so intertwined in Backlash. I’m already thinking about going back for a second read just to see if I can experience the action packed tale like it my first time!

The truth revealed
During the telling of the situation occurring in Virginia, Nate understands and uncovers more about PIE. Discovery of Alex's killer is revealed. Nate finds his mother is a force to be reckoned with. Allies are revealed in the quest to stop the mess associated with PIE. Another great read that keeps me excited to find out if the movement can be stopped. This book contains much information that seems to be coming from the front pages of our days.

Several Mic Drops
Iris Bolling put both feet in BACKLASH and stomped the heck out of every detail of this story. My advice is do not read in the Dentist's office waiting to be called, others will think you are crazy as you read and talked to the book. This story was engrossing from the first word "Luck to the last word "
damned."
I was introduced to a few new characters to be on the lookout for in future books, and brought up to date on some characters, with others making a quick cameo appearance to wet your imagination as to what was going to happen. Seeds were dropped on what may or may not be love connections. Scenes that will forever be in my head are the ones between Nate and the Vaughns, and Hayden and Nathaniel.
Questions were answered from the first book, with more questions left hanging for book three.
All I can say is "WELL DONE" Iris.

I was captivated by this well-written, intriguing, suspenseful novel. It was both thrilling and chilling, leaving me on the edge of my seat.
The characters, both protagonists and adversaries, were well developed, allowing me to become fully immersed in their world. The parallels drawn between the main characters experiences and current real-world situations were particularly fascinating.
I also liked the way characters were pulled in from other series written by the author. Had I not already read them, I was compelled to follow up and dive into their stories as well.
Filled with elements of danger, suspense, internal espionage, and corruption, the story followed a group of individuals fighting the good fight. I did not put this book down until the last page.

This story kept me on my toes, just when I thought I knew what was going on another curveball was thrown my way. There's no way that you can figure out who is friend and who is foe because they're are so many twists and turns throughout the story, you literally feel like you have whiplash!!!
Iris Bolling is the Queen Of Curveball and she loves dropping little nuggets throughout the story to make you actually think and second guess everything that you thought you knew going into the story.
I honestly can't wait to read the next book in this wonderful series!!!

Couldn't put it down!!!
Iris has done it again! While reading some parts of this book really made me angry, but it also made me think. In our society, these issues are prevalent today. Backlash is a GREAT read. I especially enjoyed reading when I saw a Lassiter or three. You know wherever they are, **** usually hits the fan, but they always save the day. Nate Reigns along with the Lassiters and the rest of the gang will stop at nothing to save ALL! So glad Chief Williams is still alive, and other secrets are revealed. Can't wait for the next book.

This installment was packed with intrigue and suspense. The storyline reels you in and is a page turner. Nate Reigns is still on the quest to solve the murder of Alex Burnett and while working in the RPD and with other allies, they continue to uncover more damaging information with P.I.E at the helm.
Ms. Bolling does a great job weaving a story that has readers really wondering what if this is really occurring in today's world. Loved the characters and good to see cameos from some of our favorite characters.

Excellent read
Excellent read, I loved the characters and storyline. This book is filled with, action, mystery and plot twists. Nate Reigns is a lawyer and police detective on a mission to.clean up corruption. It was great catching up with the family, friends and associates from past books in Richmond Virginia. Mayor LT, Phire, Joshua and police chief Williams to name a few. In this day and age, this plot fits in with the political climate of today. I just pray we have some Nate Reigns and Sapphire and her organization to combat the evil of the world.

Wow, I'm still trying to catch my breath after reading this book. Iris Bolling really knocked it out of the park with this one. She managed to bring all the pieces of P.I.E.'s agenda, the serum invented in S.I.B.'s and how they connect to attempt to satisfy their agendas. Now the fight for good begins with all the good people in place. Make sure you have pen and paper, you're going to need them to keep track of all the players, good and bad, some undecided.
Can't wait for the continuation of this storyline. All I can say is Nate Reigns' Forever!!

The Best Series
As an avid reader, I sometimes struggle with finding books that maintain my attention from beginning to end. This action packed book gave me what I craved. It was intelligently written. Ms. Bolling took creative liberties without taking things too far outside of reason. I absolutely fell for Nate and got to revisit a few of my favorite characters from previous books. Joshua is still the man. I can't wait to see where she takes this series next.

AWESOME, CAPTIVATING, PAGE TURNER!,
Fantastic read! I couldn’t read it fast enough. I was enthralled, anxiously waiting for the next scene to play out and when it did I was surprised and loved it when the strong black women kicked ass , they were not victims but presented as beautiful, self confident, highly intelligent, independent, everything you want your daughter’s to be. Loved it!!!

Mind-blowing
The scenerios in this book were so life like I thought I was reading a non fiction book instead of fiction. It perfectly described what is going on in our country at the present time. That's why I love Ms. Bollings books so much. It didn't hurt that my book husband Joshua was in this book as well. I was proud that he didn't blow up anything (that we know of). Truly a great read. I cannot wait for the next one.

Another great read by Iris
Iris kept me on my toes the whole story. I finished this book in 2 days because I simply HAD to know what happened. I love reading her books because her characters from other novels are usually always intertwined some how and this book was no different. Wow….Iris was all over the place with this action packed book. It was simply great. People dying like flies. Secrets revealed and I’m anticipating what is going to happen next. Kudos to Iris Bolling for taking us on these amazing adventures with her imagination.

Great Read
I enjoyed reading Backlash, this story is so relatable to what's going on in the world today. That it's scary. I love that Nate and the rest of his team are ready to do battle to save the people of Richmond. I definitely recommend this book.
